Since 1997 Forlimpopoli has payed tribute to his most illustrious fellow citizen, Pellegrino Artusi, recognized not only as the father of modern Italian cuisine, but also as a great popularizer of the national language. His famous cooking manual, "Science in the kitchen and the art of eating well", is considered by scholars an important instrument of identity and cultural unification, both gastronomic and linguistic, of our country. In this light, the words of Piero Camporesi: "Science in the kitchen has done for national unification more than the book Promessi Sposi", acquire an even more meaningful significance. the XXI edition will keep its rich offering to the ever more numerous visitors of artusian menus and not only, with an outline of musical-theatrical-cinema shows, meetings and insights, exhibitions, tastings and gastronomic routes. All seasoned with generous hospitality that only the land of Romagna is able to offer. Every evening, from 7 until midnight, the historic center, dominated by the impressive fourteenth-century fortress, is transformed into a "city of taste", in which courtyards, alleyways, streets and squares become places of the Artus manual. And, as is now tradition, the Artusi Prize and the Marietta ad honorem Prize will be awarded to famous people. Forlimpopoli becomes the Capital of good food and gastronomic culture, thanks also to the collaboration of Casa Artusi, the first center of gastronomic culture dedicated to domestic cuisine.
