Castle of Sorci

The ancient castle, probably of Lombard origin, belonged to the twelfth century. to the Barbolani of Galbino. The toponym Sorci
derives from the Germanic "sorku", which means moorland, then discovered "place of the brooms of scrub" that made and still belong to the local vegetation. In 1385 it was subjected to the Florentine domination and it became the residence of the captain of fortune Baldaccio Bruni, who was then killed treacherously and beheaded on 6 September 1441, which is why his ghost is still rumbling in the halls of this ancient manor.
