Alpe della Luna
A wonderful natural landscape, to be visited especially at dawn or at sunset, when all its romanticism is unleashed.
This part of the Apennines tells the story of the great ecclesiastical Rome, thanks to the wooden beams that started from here to become part of the great basilicas, churches and palaces of the time.
Thanks to the strong presence of firtreesand the proximity of the river, these plants were cut down, marked AUFA (Ad Usum Fabricae Apostolicae, hence the so-called "a uffa" indicating who eats quickly) and thrown into the water, where the river he would have transported them to Rome, along the Tiber.
The road of Bocca Trabaria, which crosses it in the svalico between Borgo Pace and San Giustino, one could think would ruin the landscape: it actually improves it, especially if traveled by motorcycle or bicycle, rather than by car, but it still preserves the its charm.
