Village of Sartiano

Sartiano is a characteristic village with an exceptional panoramic position on the Marecchia valley. The ancient castle, whose original nucleus rests on a hill at the entrance of the village, once belonged to the Rectorate of Sant'Agata Feltria. Of notable interest is the church dedicated to San Biagio and dating back to the century. XVI. The one-nave interior has retained its original truss structure with capitals and barbicans and original tiles. The presbytery is home to a sixteenth-century wooden choir, as well as the valuable wooden tabernacle in the shape of a small temple. The ancient pipe organ is worth noting. In the Church are preserved four large seventeenth-century blades, one of which in particular attributed to the young Cagnacci, depicts the transit of St. Joseph with Jesus and his young mother Mary. In a niche there is a statue of Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners, acquired thanks to a signature of all the miners of Sartiano. On the highest point of the village there is the Oratory of San Biagio which still today receives the popular devotion and, following the tradition, on the 3rd of February each year the bread to be consumed against the sore throat is blessed.
