Sorrivoli

The town, on the hills of Cesena, stands perched around its millennial castle, on the left bank of the Rubicone river, called in Urgon dialect. This structure is home to the parish of "Aldebrando". The Castle of Sorrivoli was property of the archbishops of Ravenna, then of the Malatesta family in 1237, of the State of the Church 1290, and of the Roverella of Cesena in the fifteenth century. Subsequently the castle passed to the Allocatelli Fabbri and then, after the bombardments of 1944 to the parish prebend. Today it is used as a church and a home. Sorrivoli is home every summer, in the month of August of the Festival of Puppets that for a week attracts the best artists internationally in the field of puppets and puppets. The Castle is also home to the prestigious Puppet University.
