Nida Badwan's atelier

Creative space by the Palestinian artist Nidaa Badwan, known for her peaceful protest that saw her self retreat for 20 months in her room after being beaten and imprisoned by some Hamas militants who were accusing her of not using the veil. From the Municipality was invited in 2015 to participate in the first edition of the award "The Village of Free Arts", designed to accommodate artists and intellectuals who in the country of origin can not express themselves freely. From that experience the idea of Room was born: the Municipality has granted the artist a "room" to allow her to work on new projects. "I have thousands of ideas - says Badwan - but first I want to do everything I could not do in my room in Gaza to avoid heavy retaliation. In the country of the Free Arts I can express myself freely ".
