Museum of the vintage disc
The collection is dedicated to the evolution of sound recording, starting from 1877, with the first wax cylinders, up to the modern laser disk. It includes authentic rarities: the oldest instruments designed by man to reproduce sounds; the recordings of important speeches given by historical figures, such as that of Vittorio Emanuele III on the occasion of the installation of the throne (1900); ancient gramophones and rare "78 rpm" discs; "Picture Disc", ie painted disks, like the one designed by Pablo Picasso; original tickets for the Woodstock Festival. The museum has guitars autographed by Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and gold and platinum records awarded to the most prestigious rock musicians: Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones. Worth noting is the vast collection of opera librettos, from the seventeenth to the twentieth century.
