former Prisons

The building is still today impressive and massive.

It was the site of the Mandatory prisons of the Rubicon from the Napoleonic era to the Unification of Italy. Previously, from 1704, it was the first seat of the Episcopal Seminary of Bertinoro later transferred to the Ex-Monastery of Corpus Domini.

Entering from the side road you can reach a magnificent vantage point and the garden open to the public.
