The Cross

Today Corso Giacomo Matteotti, this ancient straight road was built in 1321 by Pier Saccone Tarlati. It connects Anghiari and Sansepolcro, with a track seven kilometers long. It was a spectator of the Battle of Anghiari on 29 June 1440 and the following year saw the development of the Palio della Vittoria, which still today runs uphill on this picturesque road.
