Civic Museum "Mons. Domenico Mambrini "in Pianetto
Founded by Mons. Domenico Mambrini in the early decades of the twentieth century, it preserves archaeological objects, artistic and historical works. Very rich in heterogeneous material testifying to the historical phases of the territory, from the Egyptian idol with hieroglyphic inscriptions to bucchers and bronzes from the Etruscan period and finds from the Roman era. Last but not least a valuable bas-relief that testifies the meeting between S. Ellero and King Teodorico. Set up in the Renaissance Convent of the Minor Fathers of Pianetto, it is divided into two sections: an archaeological one, with finds from the sites and the Galeate religious buildings (Mevanìola, Villa di Teoderico, abbey from Sant'Ellero, pieve di San Pietro), and the other historical-artistic, with frescoes of the church of the Pantano and paintings from the Uffizi Gallery. It has modern educational equipment (translated into English) and an introductory video.
