Church of San Pietro a Corniolo
The first news about the church dates back to the 12th century, when it represented the religious reference point of the ancient court of Fafforata (the present Corniolo). Nothing remains of the oldest phase of the building, having been destroyed several times due to seismic events. The current appearance, in Romanesque style, is due to the reconstructions that took place following the earthquakes of 1318-19. Inside are preserved prestigious artistic works (Giovanni della Robbia school, Giulio Ponteghini) dating from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century and works by contemporary artists. Not far from the church, it is worth visiting the Oratory of Santa Maria delle Grazie with its colorful late-baroque decorations.
