Church of San Floriano

A small pearl in the hamlet of Palazzo Mucci, this church has a sandstone entrance porch. Everything is dated 1426. It has a bell gable with two bells, and a curious apse enclosed by a roof, which gives an oblique cut.
On the wall there is a solar clock, engraved on stone, missing a stylus.
Inside you can admire "the Crucifixion", a painting by Raffaellino del Colle.
Painter of Colle, a small village near Sansepolcro, the seventh son of Michelangelo del Colle, was born in the last years of 1490, it seems between 1494 and 1497, and attended the school of Raffaello Sanzio. Except for some very important trips, such as Rome, Naples, Florence and Mantua, he worked mainly around the Tosco-Umbro-Marchigiano border.

Given the dimensions, the painting seems to have been painted right inside the Church. It is inserted in a carved and gilded wooden frame, and depicts a Christ on the Cross, with the Madonna, St. John the Evangelist, St. Nicholas of Bari and St. Biagio, two popular saints in the area. St. Nicholas is depicted with the three golden balls, symbol of the dowry that he gave to three women to marry, therefore he is the protector of women as husband; San Biagio is a protector of diseases of the throat
