The castle of Penna and the Gioconda view point
In the historical center of Pennabilli, in front of the Castle of Billi stood the Castle of Penna on the hill of Roccione. There are only a few ruins but the view from the Roccione is spectacular: you can admire Tuscany with the emergence of Mount Fumaiolo from where the Tiber is born, the Marecchia valley that goes into the Romagna rich in castles like San Marino, San Leo, Maiolo etc. Finally to the north-east stands Mount Carpegna, on whose slopes the road that leads into the Marche rises up. You can admire, in the same place, the Bell of Lhasa the monument dedicated to Tibet and to Father Orazio Olivieri: the one who made the Tibetan civilization known to the West in the 1700s. A recent study claims that the landscape behind the Gioconda is the territory of Montefeltro: it is possible to admire it in all its beauty from Roccione, which has also become "Vista Point della Gioconda".
