The tradition of the trina with pins, or tombolo, in Anghiari boasts important traditions. We have news of the first decades of the last century that handed down to us a flourishing activity of the women of Anghiari in carrying out pillow-making. It was a fairly important source for the family, even if it required many hours of continuous work.
In Anghiari, the tombolo (also lace) is made with the appropriate tool with the cushion flat (and not cylindrical, as in most Italian regions), commonly called loaf, and is done by holding the spindles resting on the pillow. Only linen yarn is used, in various sizes depending on the work to be performed.
