Archaeological exhibition

The exhibition, located in the municipal building, exhibits some archaeological finds belonging to a necropolis, found in 2004, during the works for the creation of a craft area in Pian S. Maria. Four years of excavations have brought to light fifty sepulchres dating back to a period of time that goes from the Piceno era to the Roman era with a suggestive mix of Umbrian-full, Gallic and Etruscan-Roman cultural elements, dating between the 3rd and 4th centuries sec. A. C. The most numerous and interesting group of graves is represented by about thirty burials dating back to the final stages of the Piceny civilization, among which all the elements exhibited in the exhibition have been selected. Among the material found there are weapons in iron and bronze, various pottery and jewelry.
