Laboratory Museum of the Monte Cucco Park

Primary tabs

Laboratory Museum of the Monte Cucco Park

It is an educational structure unique in its kind, where it shows in an unusual way what happens in the limestone masses of Monte Cucco and the Umbrian Marche Appennines, starting from their formation, then unveiling the mysterious paths that the rain follows in the bowels of the mountains before to review the light at the sources and feed the plains of the plains. It is a path for everyone, in fact designed especially for children and school children. Different sectors require that the discovery and acquisition of knowledge pass through manual intervention, with machinery, tools and three-dimensional models driven by the visitors themselves. The final point of the path of knowledge is the origin of the water we drink (which is also the theme around which the set of images, texts, machines, models, samples and instruments present in the museum revolves) , but it starts, and it would not be possible otherwise, from the origin of the Apennine rocks and the Apennines itself, through multimedia paths that take us back in time, up to Pangea, and reconstruct the movements of the continents and the lifting of the land emerged then the mountains, then passing to the formation of caves and paths that are the places of groundwater collection. There is also a vast and systematic collection of fossils present in the sedimentary stratifications of the Monte Cucco Park.
