Barrel racing

The event is organized by the Corsa delle Botti Association. The themes that inspire the party are new wines and the anniversary of San Martino. This is a race around the historic center of Costacciaro, on Sunday afternoon, where two wooden barrels, connected to a rudder and pulled by a formation of four young people, who change during the journey. One barrel (a distinctive blue color) refers to Costacciaro’s capital and to the other (a distinctive green color) refers to the fractions of the municipal territory. Before the race there is a parade with references to the harvest and the winemaking. Saturday evening in the hamlet of Villa Col de 'Canali and on Sunday evening in Costacciaro there are moments of joy, with music, songs and food and wine tasting, including roasted chestnuts.
In the last editions of the parade children also appear, with small barrels. It takes place on the second Saturday of November.
