Cave of San Pier Damiani

The cave, located about 3 km from the Monastery of Fonte Avellana, was a place of prayer chosen by the Saint, when he became part of the community of avellanite hermits. It presents itself as a wide cavity with the entrance bordered by a dry stone wall and with a simple stone altar inside.
