History of the "Nineteenth-century Bicycle Grand Prix".
The idea of this event that does not find equal in any country in the world, was born and took consistency within the Pro Loco Fermignanese in 1966, with the then President Pompeo Carotti. Initially the Grand Prix was disputed with great success, but over the years the event lost importance. After 18 years of oblivion, in 1989, the Pro Loco of Fermignano, thanks to the sponsorship of the EPT of Pesaro and Urbino, decided to re-propose the event. The event immediately regains the notoriety of the past years. The competitiveness of the past is back, an essential characteristic of the riders who compete for the "Biciclo d'Oro" area, bringing the district from the district they represent to victory.
