Kolor photographic exhibition

From 23 September 2017 to 7 January 2018, the San Domenico museums host the first major color image retrospective of Elliott Erwitt. Kolor is in fact the title of this great exhibition, which presents to the public 135 color shots chosen by Erwitt himself, who only recently decided to face his immense color archive, like a real long-term journey. The exhibition is therefore original and surprising, precisely because Erwitt is mostly known for his black and white photographs. The photographs on show are taken from two large color projects, Kolor and The Art of André S. Solidor. The former consists of old Kodak negatives.

Erwitt’s language, from portraits of famous people to the most ironic and sometimes irreverent images, in the section of André S. Solidor, on the other hand, are gathered images of hilarious and subtle parody of the contemporary art world with its contradictions and its absurdity.
