Palio of the Counts Oliva
In the medieval village of Piandimeleto the noble family Oliva (XIV-XV AD) used to celebrate the glorious knights returning from valiant battles with sumptuous banquets, acrobats and competitions of skill among the archers, who, in front of their Lord contended with pride the ambitious Palio.
Every year the last Saturday and Sunday of July are recalled such events and at sunset the streets are populated by masters, artisans, merchants, musicians, artists and comedians, perfumes, colors and the flavors of history fill the air of evening and the traveler in the magical atmosphere of the party will take the last weekend of July.
