Sanctuary of Casticciano

On July 2, 1612 Agnese Dalle Tombe regained her sight, after having recited the rosary in front of the image of the Madonna delle Grazie, painted by Maestro Bentivoglio and placed in an old cell where once stood a church. After a careful check, the authenticity of the miracle was judged, on 16 July 1612 it was decided to proceed with the rebuilding of the church which was completed in 1619. A further intervention was carried out in 1704, bringing the building to the current Latin cross plant. The entrance portal is dominated by the high relief, created by Elisa Morelli, which reproduces the miraculous healing of Agnese. Near the Sanctuary was the Via del Rosario of the Faenza sculptor Gaetano Dal Monte.
