Church of San Silvestro
The church was rebuilt by the Camaldolese architect Paolo Soratini (1682-1762) in late Baroque style between 1740 and 1749. Until 1797, the church belonged to the female monastic order of the Benedictine nuns of Corpus Domini to become, after the Restoration , the church of the Episcopal Seminary. Designed with a single nave, the Soratini can be attributed the designs for the stucco decorations of the precious altarpiece of the high altar. The San Silvestro canvas The Pope and Saint Benedict the Abbot in adoration of the Sacred Heart is the work of the Forlì painter Giuseppe Marchetti (1722-1801).
