Villa Saffi House Museum

A nineteenth-century residence, it was a carbonara meeting place and residence of the Saffi family. The Villa Saffi complex, in San Varano, was acquired by the Municipality of Forlì in July 1988 and by the Saffi heirs. The building, originally a Jesuit convent, was purchased in 1740 by Count Tommaso Saffi, great-grandfather of Aurelio, and used as a summer residence. Aurelio Saffi lived there for a long time, and here he died on April 10, 1890. His memory and that of the historical events of which he was the protagonist or participant is very present in the furnishings and the paper and decorative materials preserved here. The charm of the complex is increased by the park, dominated in the front part by a majestic cedar of Lebanon and in the back area by a group of oaks.
