Former Nursery Santarelli

The building was solemnly inaugurated by the visits of Rachele Mussolini in November 1937 and the Queen of Italy Elena, in October 1938. The complex designed by the engineer G. Savini is divided into three blocks that surround an internal courtyard, closed on the fourth side with a low arched portico that protects the three entrances, from which you can access the main educational and recreational activities. The classrooms are exposed to the south east to receive the morning sun, and are in direct contact with the garden, while the two large service blocks are totally different: exposed to the north west and covered by a powerful and measured structure in pavilions , the large cube contains on the mezzanine floor the refectory, with walls covered with white Carrara marble slabs, and the Chapel. In contrast, and parallel to via Valverde, a large parallelepiped with a rounded head on the main front, houses the recreation area.
