Villa Magherini Graziani

From the middle of the hill the Magherini Graziani palace, a splendid example of a late Renaissance noble villa, dominates the vast and open Tiber valley. Not far from the ancient villa in Tuscis di Plinio the young. It was Carlo Graziani, an exponent of the tertiary family of Tuscan origin, who entrusted the construction, on a medieval fortification (some scholars believe also the pre-existence of a Roman fort), the villa of Celalba near San Giustino, the architect Antonio Cantagallina di Sansepolcro , a disciple of Vasari, and of the Bruni of Rome. The villa is owned by the municipality. The farmhouse is home to a real guesthouse with rooms suitable for hosting social and cultural activities. The villa houses the archaeological museum of the Villa di Plinio in Tuscis with findings from the archaeological site of the Villa itself. It also hosts two permanent exhibitions with works by the artists Bruno Bartoccini and Attilio Pierelli.
