Visit to the Monastery of the SS Annunziata

The monastery of the SS Annunziata, owned by the municipality of Tredozio (FC) since 1986 is located in the north of the town at the entrance to the village, on the left for those coming from Faenza.
Historical background: the date of the presumed foundation dates back to 1060. 1563, 14 Dominican Sisters moved there from the monastery. 1810, Napoleon suppressed the monastic orders and the Dominican nuns had to leave the convent, which was deprived of all activity and put on sale and purchased in 1840 by the Fabroni family of Marradi. 1986, the Fabroni family sold the convent to the Municipality of Tredozio. After the purchase by the Municipality and the Superintendency for the cultural and environmental heritage of Ravenna, they began a long process of conservative restoration of the building still underway thanks to public and private funding (Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Folrì). On the ground floor of the building in the former Church, which was restored thanks to a congruous investment by the Superintendency of Ravenna, concerts, events and exhibitions are held annually, especially in the winter period with the exhibition of nativity scenes.
