Idro - Ecomuseum of the Waters of Ridracoli

Connected to the Ridracoli dam was the IDRO Ecomuseum of the Ridracoli waters. The modern exhibition venue is housed in the historic village of Ridracoli, near Palazzo Giovannetti (documented from the 18th century) and the beautiful arched bridge over the Bidente. The museum is structured in a central office and in thematic poles located in the territory of Ridracoli. The exhibition halls on the distribution of water on the planet and on the importance of water are set up in the main office as an essential element of life. A part is focused on the management of the water resource and the issues related to the Romagna aqueduct are dealt with: the dam, the artificial lake, the intake works, the hydroelectric plant, the water purification, up to the distribution network that allows water in the homes of citizens. A section is dedicated to the fauna of the Bidente valley, where are exposed the faunal findings belonging to the former Naturalistic Museum of Ridracoli. The animals on display have been found dead or killed through poaching, while some exhibits come from the Verona Natural History Museum, the Foschi museum and other collections.
