Self-guided visit to the ancient village

Armed only with our smartphone we will be able to discover the history and the beauties of Pietralunga in an interactive guided tour. The route winds through the most important monuments that characterize the area through an interactive journey through history. Starting from the QR Codes placed near the monuments you can learn anecdotes and curiosities that over the centuries have crossed and shaped the medieval alleys of Pietralunga.

The town of Pietralunga presents numerous historical and cultural attractions such as the characteristic and fascinating historical center: it is a medieval village gathered in the degrading part of the hill, towards the stream Carpinella. Its walls are still intact and is protected, in the highest part, by the imposing pentagonal defense tower called Rocca Longobarda, from which we suggest you start the interactive guided tour. On the right stands Palazzo Fiorucci built in 1612 and on the bottom of Piazza Fiorucci stands the Pieve di Santa Maria, the parish church of Pietralunga. Taking us outside to the side door, we will meet the massive construction of the bell tower built in 1933 and in front of it we will see the church of the Gonfalone. After a few steps we will find the Romanesque portal, the main entrance of the Pieve. Going back a few meters, we will end our walk with the imposing complex of the Convent of Sant 'Agostino built in the thirteenth century.
