Monastery of San Girolamo

It was built in 1500 by Don Ghisello, belonging to the illustrious family of Vandini, by concession of the Bishop of Montefeltro Luca Melini, and also with the subsequent support of the Dukes of Urbino. Enchanting place, surrounded by ancient oaks, the Monastery has been recently restored by the Municipality, which owns it. Today it looks like a quiet oasis, a treasure trove reserved for tourists, who want to stay and find quality restaurants. Consisting of Church, Convent and other service addiction. The single-nave church contains a choir and an organ. The Altarpiece of the high altar on canvas, painted by Bernardino of Longiano (1560), depicts the Madonna with Angels, Child and Saints Girolamo and Giovanni Battista. Frescoes in the walls represent Santa Maria Maddalena. Saint Lucia, a Triptych with Madonna, Child and Saints Anthony Abbot and Stephen, Crucifix and Saints, a canvas with Madonna, Child and Saints surrounded by small panels, which describe scenes of evangelical life. In the Refettorio, a popular but evocative fresco with the Last Supper adorns the back wall. In the upper floor of the Monastery are preserved the ancient cells of the monks. Today, San Girolamo is destined to tourism and the structure as a whole satisfies the most demanding requests of a clientele in search of particularly valuable places from an environmental and cultural point of view.
